German classes – the group experience
Would you like to learn German in the company of others? Learning the language with others is great fun and in addition to learning from the teacher, you learn from each other. We deliberately keep German classes small (up to 12 students), so tuition still feels personal and you get the chance to get to know each other. We currently offer face-to-face classes in Whitley Bay and online classes, please refer to the information below.

German Online Class for Beginners (starts Wednesday, the 24th of January 2024 @ 6.30 pm)
This online class is for absolute Beginners and can be joined at any time. They started with an introduction to Germany, the country, its culture, and its language. We cover greetings, introductions, talking about yourself, numbers, present tense, basic sentence structure, and the sounds of German (phonics), etc. No prior knowledge is necessary! Have you never done German before? This is a fun and interactive introduction to the language, the country, and its culture!
Course book: Willkommen! German 1 by Paul Coggle & Heiner Schenke, 12.99 + Activity Book, £7.99.
Additional course material will be provided: interactive games, crosswords, quizzes, websites, videos, etc.

German Online Class for Beginners with basic knowledge (starts Tuesday, the 23rd of January 2024 @ 6.30 pm)
This online class is for Beginners with some basic knowledge: Greetings, introductions, talking about yourself, numbers, present tense, basic sentence structure, and the sounds of German (phonics). So far we have covered the first 2 chapters of the course book. Maybe you learned German a long time ago and remember some basic German? This might be the class for you!

You are never too old to learn a language and as a pensioner with Austrian roots who never learned the language as a child I started having lessons with the German Teacher recently. And what a teacher! I have learned really quickly and we have such fun discussing the details of life in Germany and Austria. Susanne even makes the grammar clear and manageable.

German Online Class for Advanced Beginners (starts Monday, the 5th of February @ 6.15 pm)
This online class is for Advanced Beginners who know the present tense, separable verbs, and modal verbs, have some knowledge of the cases, numbers, and pronouns, and are ready to start on the past tense.

German Advanced Beginners’ Class in Whitley Bay at Space@ (starts Thursday, the 8th of February @ 6.40 pm)
This face-to-face class is for Advanced Beginners who know the present tense, separable verbs, modal verbs, numbers, pronouns, accusative and dative case, and the past tense.

German Advanced Learners Class in Whitley Bay at Space@ (starts Thursday, the 8th of February @ 5.30 pm)
This face-to-face class is for Advanced Learners who feel overall secure in the tenses and cases, although we do revise both all the time. The focus is on speaking and vocabulary learning to expand your ability to converse in German.

Pricing: £130 for 10 weeks (60 min lessons)
Susanne is an excellent, fully qualified, native speaking German teacher. Her lessons are well structured, challenging and rewarding. She teaches grammar well, and explains concepts very clearly with plenty of time for questions and revisiting any tricky areas. Homework is aways relevant and marked.
Susanne is a passionate, professional and friendly teacher and I particularly enjoy being taught about German customs and culture. We are all encouraged to speak as much German as possible in class which has really helped with my confidence.
It’s great to know that if ever I should need to complete the CEFR levels, Susanne would be able to teach me up to C2.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Susanne as an outstanding German teacher and look forward to my next course with her!
